Many Roads Only Two Destinations…

Every road during our life time has a direction and an end. The bible teaches us that every soul goes to heaven or to hell. Many people don’t realize that there are many roads that lead to hell but only one that leads to heaven. The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Jesus Christ. (John 14:6). The road that leads to heaven may have detours planted by Satan that look inviting and exciting, but they ultimately lead to hell. Satan does not want you to have eternal life; he is a liar, deceiver and will play you like a puppet.

We may be willing or have the desire to stay on the right road, yet we fail because our flesh (our sinful nature) is weak (Matthew 26:41). James 1 tells us — “each one is tempted, carried away and enticed by his own lust; when this lust is conceived it gives birth to sin that leads to death (hell)”. Satan knows your desires and your weaknesses. When he comes to take you down the sinful road, he uses what he knows will be effective and cause you to detour. The sin may feel good, look good or provide temporary worldly benefits, but there will always be consequences. Our sin separates us from God, entails punishment that you will suffer, and cause pain for those that are the causalities of your sin.

If you have taken a detour, remember it is never too late to turn back. Don’t ever believe that your sin can never be forgiven because it already has. Make the decision to turn back. What you will need is repentance, a willing heart and a desire to seek Jesus. We have a power available that will help us overrule our weaknesses and our desires, and it only comes through the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-17). Tap into that power and let Him pull you back on solid ground.
