Be Still….I meet people often that express to me that they cannot hear or do not hear from God. My first response is, do you ever take the time to be still and listen for His voice. The act of being still and getting quiet has become a real challenge in our hectic world. We are sleep depraved, rushing to work, stressed, impatient, dealing with road-rage, driven by screaming children and trying to find time for a spouse that has been neglected. Wow, when is there time for God? The answer is we should make time. How often do we ask God for everything under the sun, but don’t stop to listen or be still to hear His voice? When we have busy schedules we need to make some items a priority.

I find that my day starts out peaceful and with less stress if I read my bible the first thing in the morning. But what I look forward to is the first 15 minutes after I wake up, because this is the time when I lay in bed, clear my mind and be still. This is my time with my Father and when I give Him that time, I am never disappointed. Set your clock for 15 minutes earlier, be still and listen for that “still quiet voice”. But remember, the closer the relationship, the easier it will be to hear His voice.
