How do you fight a battle without knowing your enemy?  When a war is fought you prepare for victory, not stay ignorant for failure.  The requirement for winning a battle is having a defeated foe. I hear Ministers/Pastors talk about the adversary or our enemy.  Some will use the word Satan as the name of the enemy, but most will not even identify a name.  We are told to defeat the enemy but rarely how to do it.  We are told to get closer to God and surrender.  But who are we surrendering to, God or Satan?  The obvious answer is God but if you do not know your enemy, you are also surrendering to him.

Many people that listen to this advice do not even believe in Satan because they are not taught about this opponent.  The enemy’s greatest achievement is convincing people he does not exists.  The truth is, this adversary is not one entity. He has an army that is well organized and knows everything about you.   His army consists of “Generals”, “Lieutenants”, “Sergeants”, “Troops” etc.  They take their commitment very serious which is to “kill, steal and destroy” God’s people. The key requirements to win any battle is to know;

  • how the enemy will attack,
  • when the enemy will attack,
  • what weapons he will attack with,
  • where the enemy will attack

We will always be in a battle, but you can be victorious and maintain your   preparedness.  If your church does not teach Spiritual Warfare, seek knowledge elsewhere.
