I am amazed at the number of people that believe Jesus destroyed Satan at the cross or that he was render powerless when Jesus died for our sins. Was Satan destroyed? No. Was he rendered powerless? Yes and No. One of the purposes of the Church is to teach and exhort the word of God. Churches teach faith, love and even encourage you to feel good about yourself regardless of the sin life. But what about teaching you how-to walk-in freedom from temptation, emotional defeat, depression, illnesses and bondage. What has happened to our Churches? What do they fear; losing members, losing money or Satan himself? Our churches are full of people that practice the occult or witchcraft and believe that all supernatural episodes are from the Holy Spirit. We have witches, warlocks, Shamans, etc. infiltrating and recruiting in our churches. Our churches are full of people that are struggling financially, plagued with mental issues, unexplained illness, depression, suicidal tenacity that are not getting better.

So, what did Jesus destroy at the cross? Jesus destroyed Satan’s power of death over us (Heb 2:14). We do not need to fear death anymore. Those that are saved will not die but have eternal life. Jesus died so we can have a righteous relationship with God; He took our sin (penalty for sin is death) and we took His righteousness. If Satan was destroyed at the cross, Peter would not have told us that “the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1Pet 5:8)”. John would not have told us that “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy (Jn 10:10)”. Also, if the enemy and his minions was entirely defeated, stripped of their powers or were annihilated, there would be no need to CAST OUT them out. Jesus gave us authority to CAST them out (Mark 3:15); not just pray.

People show up at church with a smile on their faces but deep inside they are hurting and outside wearing a mask. Jesus came so we can have “life more abundantly” here on earth not just after life (Jn 10:10). As Pastors and teachers, you owe it to your congregation to teach them how to take back their joy and how to live that abundant life. Satan’s aim is to keep people in sin giving him a legal right to torment and destroy. He entices people to sin, he inflicts disease, destroys relationship, seduces you into error, steals your finances, blinds your eyes, closes your ears and hardens your heart. And the worst of it all, he recruits our children. We are so busy living in the world, we are not the spiritual covering for our children.

Will Satan be destroyed? Yes, but it may not be in our lifetime. We will always have battles even though the war has been won. If your church does not teach you how to be victorious in battle, find another church or a ministry that teaches Spiritual Warfare. There are also many Ministries that share You-Tube videos and newsletters on warfare. Exposing Truth Ministries, offer a three-day class twice a year on Healing and Deliverance. Regardless of how you obtain the knowledge, remember the battle is only won with Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus says the victory has been won; STAND ON IT! Take back your life!
