Many people do not believe in Satan and some people say that Jesus killed Satan at the cross. 1Peter was written after Jesus dies on the cross. It is a warning concerning Satan that also says that God allows the suffering that our adversary creates. It says we need to be serious because this adversary is always seeking to devour someone. Satan does not care about age, creed or country; everyone has the same enemy and will suffer because of him. But, because God is in control, the suffering of those that have been called to Christ will not last forever.

Has any of you taken the time to read 1Peter 5:8-10;

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil  prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to  devour.

Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds  of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood  throughout the world.  And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all  grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will  himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. “
