Sexual Sin has become very respectable in our society. Pornography has become the other person in the marriage and the destruction of relationships. Many people don’t realize that pornography is adultery. We ignore the warnings given in the bible and choose to believe that He is a God of Love that will give us grace when we sin. It is important that we understand what God says about the subject.

1 Corinthians 6:15–16

Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” (ESV)

Comment: When you have sex, there is a spiritual link created; you are spiritually joined to that individual.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits, is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Comment: We are told to flee from sexual sin and glorify our bodies; we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. I have spoken with Christians that do not believe that the Holy Spirit lives in us. They don’t understand the power we have living inside of us.

1 Corinthians 6:9

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, (EVS)

Comment: Here we are told that people that practice sexual immorality, which includes adultery and homosexuality, will not be save.

Mark 7:21-23

For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you. (ESV)

Comment: 1 Thessalonians 4 is all about a life pleasing to God. Many people claim they do not know God’s will for their lives; here is one of those “wills”. I have had women say that their boyfriends who are Christians say that they are being legalistic when they say that they want to live in God’s will and remain celibate until marriage. God tells us that fornicators will not go to heaven. Has lust dictated the decisions we make? Is it that we do not believe God? Or is it that we really don’t care about salvation.

Revelations 22 12-15

12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”  14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. (ESV)

Comment: Revelation 22 is about Jesus coming back. He list those in verse 15 those that will be considered outsider when He returns.

Revelations 21:8

7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

Comment: Having stated, in general terms, who would be admitted into the blessed world, he now states explicitly who would not in verse 8.

Ephesians 5:5-6

5 For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not become partners with them;

Hebrews 13:4

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
Comment: All those that are promiscuous and unprincipled in sexual matters, and all violations of the marriage covenant, will be severely punished by God;

Proverbs 6:32

He who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself.

1 Corinthians 7:2

But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

1 Thessalonians 4:3

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality;

Galatians 5:19

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,

1 Corinthians 7:1-40

Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. …

Leviticus 20:10, 13

10 “If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

Comment: Before Jesus, people were put to death. Jesus paid the price “death” for our sins but it is still an abomination in God’s eyes.

Romans 1:26-27

For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Comment: This passage is about Homosexuality.

Matthew 5:32

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Luke 16:18

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.
Comment: If you have divorced your spouse and remarried for reasons other than accepted by the Lord, ask for forgiveness and for a blessed marriage.

Mark 10:11-12

And he said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

Comment: see above comment

Ephesians 5:3

But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints?

1 Corinthians 10:8

We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day.

Galatians 6:7-8

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

2 Peter 2:14

They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!

1 Timothy 1:10

The sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,

Jude 1:7

Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

Matthew 5:27

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’

Acts 15:29

That you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”

Colossians 3:5-7

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them.
