God wants to grant the desires of our heart for those who are in Christ. But what are those desires? Are they focused on self? – material wealth, personal issues, relationships, jobs, businesses etc. or are they aligned to His Will for our life – to be with Him, to earnestly seek after His Kingdom and serve Him in what He called us to do. God already knows all of our needs but He is waiting to see if we will seek Him in all things and keep His Kingdom needs first. It’s not just dropping x $$$ in an offering bucket but being committed to doing His will just like Jesus did. That’s what Jesus meant by seeking the Kingdom first (Matt 6:33) and not our petty basic essential needs of life. Those things will be given to us anyway. But God wants to know where is our heart at? Worldly stuff or His Kingdom needs! Remember – it’s a partnership. The daily ‘needs’ are ‘benefits’ along the way.
