Deliverance FAQ – You Are At War
Please read our Deliverance FAQ to understand what Deliverance is before contacting Exposing Truth Ministries and request our Deliverance services.
Who are we in a war with?
We are fighting battles of a war that has already been won. Yes, I know “if the war has already been won why do we have battles”? The word of God tells us what is going to happen to Satan when Jesus returns. Until that time, we are in a constant spiritual battle with our adversary Satan and his dominions. Ephesians 6:10-18 tells us who we are in war with and how we prepare and fight the battles.
The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Why are we in the war?
We are at war because Satan wants to destroy all of God’s people. Our bible does not give us details as to why but it tells us that he wants to “kill, steal and destroy” (John 10:10).
Where does the battle start?
The battle starts in the mind. The devil bombards your mind with negative thoughts, fears, doubts, and lies. He is vary cunning and knows you very well. He knows that it must be done gradually at a pace where you will not doubt that it is real. He knows you very well. He knows your mannerisms, weaknesses, fears, insecurities, and your thoughts. Our enemy also attacks our body. Many illnesses and pains are associated with spiritual attacks. It is your mind (what you believe) and your sin that opens the door to the attacks.
Do you have weapons?
Yes. The Lord has provided us weapons of warfare. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 tell us that we cannot walk in the flesh when it comes to warfare. We must pull down strongholds and cast down everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of the Lord God. Strongholds are incorrect thinking patterns that our enemy uses to destroy us. For example, if the enemy continues to tell you that you are stupid, you will believe and act like you are stupid. Our weapons of warfare is the sword, which is the word of God (the Bible) and prayer. Deliverance ministers know how the enemy attacks and uses the weapons at our disposal to facilitate victory in the battles against the enemy.
Can we win?
The requirement for winning a battle is a having a defeated enemy. You must know your opponent. Many people have difficulty accepting the enemy’s existence and the influence he has over our mind and body. You cannot win the battle unless you understand his strategy and believe that the battle can be won. If an army wants victory, it focuses on the “5 W’s and How”. You must know what weapons are available and how to use them:
- Who: Satan and his dominion
- What: Bombard you with negative thoughts, attitudes, doubts, fears
- When: When we open the doors to sin as defined by God and allow strongholds to define you
- Where: Our soul (mind, attitude, thoughts, personality), our body and those closest to you
- Why: Because he want to destroy God’s children
- How: Satan is very strategic and well thought out in his plans. He uses his knowledge about you—your relationships, finances, job, health, and quality of life.
Can we fight this war strategically?
Yes. By fighting offensively instead of defensively, you will definitely win the battle. You may come away bruised but not defeated.
