When any part of our body gets ‘dirty’ we can go quickly clean ourselves by taking a bath and then look all pretty and nice again. But how about when we are spiritually ‘unclean’? Do we even recognize the state of the soul and spirit? We are so focused on presenting our bodies clean and beautiful to the outside world (Matthew 23:27). But who knows the state of our soul and spirit? A Christian can be afflicted by demonic forces which are foul spirits which then take control over their soul, mind and thoughts. They can indulge in sexual immorality, occult, indecency, drunkenness, selfishness, strife, envy, jealousy and many more as such and perhaps have no share in the Kingdom of God as Galatians 5:19-21 says.

When we recognize a ‘spiritual affliction’ tormenting us we need deliverance. When one is born again he/she is born of the spirit and is a new creation in Christ. It is a spiritual renewal. But the body (the flesh) continues to crave for the lusts of the world and is constantly in struggle opening doors to spiritual affliction, bad soul ties and addictions. Those things don’t stop overnight. The Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 5:24-25 to crucify the flesh and its passions and desires and live in the Spirit. But how can one live in the Spirit when they are ‘spiritually unclean’ entertaining and partnering with the foul spirits – knowingly or unknowingly.

It is even worse for one who thinks they are a Christian but not born again, who are unable to fight these spiritual oppressions and remain unclean in the soul and mind. The journey to Heaven can be a joyful one if we can keep our ‘house’ clean by seeking deliverance – either through self-deliverance or from a deliverance ministry. Once clean we pursue to live in the Spirit and keep our ‘house’ clean and spiritually healthy. Jesus constantly went about casting out the unclean spirit and taught His disciples and us how to go about doing that and setting captives free and then teaching them how to stay free. We must do the same – for ourselves, our family and those who are oppressed. Matthew 12: 43-45.
